World Primary Aluminium Production (2010)
World primary aluminium production follows a rising trend the recent years, increasing by almost 10 million tons in half a decade according to IAI consolidated statistics. Aluminum production reached 40.4 million tons in 2010, recording a 29.2% increase compared to 2005 figures.

Top Aluminium Producers (2010)
UC Rusal is the world’s top aluminium producer with a total annual production of 4,153 million tons. Alcoa, which produces annually 3,965 million tons, follows next on the second place and Alcan concludes the top three with 3,454 million tons of annual production.

World Aluminium Demand (2010)
World aluminum demand is on the uprise the recent years, gaining more than 7 million tons since 2005. Global demand reached 39.123 million tons in 2010 and it’s expected to rise by another 15% to 45 million tons in 2011. World aluminium demand is projected to reach 73 million tons by 2020.
End Use Markets (2009)
Aluminium is a widely used metal and its applications are countless. From daily life to space travel, the light is everywhere around us. Top aluminium consumers are transport and construction, which account for 50% of total metal consumption in end use applications.

LME Stocks (2010)
Aluminium stocks at the LME have skyrocketed from 2008 onwards. LME stocks were down in 2010 compared to the historical highs of 2009 (4.624 million tons) but still remained in relatively high levels (4.275 millions tons).
